Respect The Mountains - 30th September 2017 - Capel Curig (Plas y Brenin)

Posted on September 4th, 2017

Join the Outdoor Partnership and Keep Wales Tidy on Saturday 30th September at Plas y Brenin, Capel Curig for a day of clean ups and outdoor activities as part of the UIAA Respect the Mountains campaign.

Respect the Mountains (RtM) is a UIAA project that promotes awareness about the impact of human activities in mountains. More information http://theuiaa.org/the-uiaa-mountain-sustainability/respect-the-mountains/

The morning will consist of a clean up at a local venue, followed by lunch and then taster sessions in the afternoon; Canoeing, Stand up Paddleboarding and Outdoor Climbing will be available to try. The day is suitable for all and booking is essential .

As part of the same event we are working in partnership with the Snowdonia Society to organise a clean up of Cwm Hetiau , high up on Snowdon. This event is being led by British Mountain Guide ‘Rob Collister ‘ and will also look at the environment of the Cwm. The access to Cwm Hetiau is quite challenging and therefore only recommended for those with good levels of fitness and experience of hillwalking. Spaces are limited so booking is essential. Silly hats a requirement!
