Top Honours for Anglesey Adventure Club Volunteer Jamie Holding

Posted on March 2nd, 2008

CONGRATULATIONS go to Anglesey Adventure Club's Chairman, Jamie Holding, who received the Volunteer of Year Award at Anglesey's recent Sports Award. The Award was presented by Tracey Morris, elite international marathon runner, at the prestigious awards ceremony, held in Beaumaris on Wednesday 5th December 2007.

"It was great to see the Club, Adventure Activities and the opportunities for adventure that surround us on Anglesey, receive recognision." says Jamie.

"Our Club thrives on the enthusiasm and efforts of all our volunteers - the Chairman and members appreciate it!"

Anglesey Adventure Club was one of the first clubs to be formed under the guidance and support of the North West Wales Outdoor Partnership back in January 2006.

"Jamie's club is one of 18 outdoor clubs formed under the guidance and support of the NWW Outdoor Partnership over the last 2 years and its wonderful to see dedicated volunteers being recognised for all their hard work and committment. Volunteer support is vital to the sustainability of our outdoor clubs. The 18 outdoor clubs provide opportunities for over 700 local people to take part in outdoor activities on a regular basis and without our volunteers these opportunities would not exist." Says Tracey Evans, Senior Project Manager for NWWOP

"The North West Wales Outdoor Partnership would like to congratulate Jamie and all our other volunteers for all their support over the last 2 years and we look forward to working and supporting you for many years to come!"
