The Outdoor Partnership will work with clubs, schools, individuals, and specialists to increase opportunities for people in Northern Ireland to achieve their potential through outdoor activities, active participation, volunteering, training, and education.

The Outdoor Partnership have been delivering a project aimed at improving peoples wellbeing through outdoor nature based activities.
The project has been funded by the Public Health Agency (PHA) through their Developing Healthy Communities programme.
The project has included 8 nature based activities which consisted of:-
- Wellbeing walks
- Nature based Mindfulness
- Cycling
- Hikes
- Climbing
- & Bush craft sessions
We hope that these projects enable more people to be able to experience the benefits of the great outdoors and develop confidence to be able to access these on their own and with family & friends in the future.
We aim to evaluate the project to demonstrate its effectiveness and use the experience of delivering this project to develop a longer term series of activities in the future supporting more people within the communities which we support.
Thanks to the providers who facilitated the various session and organisations who provided support;
- Mourne Heritage Trust
- Disability Sport NI,
- Tollymore NOC,
- Bolster Community,
- DisAbility HUB
- & Mountaineering Ireland
Thanks also to the support from the PHA for funding this project.

The Outdoor Partnership support people to discover the outdoors on their doorstep in Northern Ireland by creating opportunities that are welcoming and suitable for a range of abilities.
We are delighted to have produced the first Tale Trails map in Northern Ireland based at Murlough nature reserve!
Tale Trails are local 1-2 hour family walks where you can follow a story map and spot different things along the way.
Download a copy of the map and story by clicking the link and have an adventure today!

We support local activity clubs with coach education for their volunteers because we know that we would be lost without the hard work and dedication so many people give by volunteering their time and energy each week. To develop their clubs in the community and improve grass route participation sport.
So far, we have supported amazing volunteers from paddling to orienteering to gain First Aid and discipline-specific coach education qualifications.

In 2023, TOP worked with The Mourne Heritage Trust to develop a youth Ambassador programme: Mourne Ambassador Programme (MAP)
The programme aimed to give young people the opportunity to take responsibility for outdoor environments in the Mournes and learn a range of skills from conservation of trails to mountain biking and making it sustainable.
Our Vision: To give young people opportunity to take responsibility for outdoor environments and to be advocates for their green and blue spaces. Along with opportunities to share learning and encourage others to respect outdoor environments.
