In 2026, The Outdoor Partnership will introduce a new area of work in Torbay, dedicated to unlocking the potential of the region’s green and blue spaces to support healthier, more active communities.
Our Development Officers in Torbay are supported through partnerships with Active Devon and Torbay on the Move. Their work will concentrate on inspiring and engaging children, young people, and adults to move more, while also supporting individuals with disabilities, long-term health conditions, and mental health needs to become more active.
- Support those already delivering excellent work in the community
- Open up new opportunities and share information widely
- Educate and create sustainable activities
- Bring partners together to empower, enable, and encourage local people
Together, we will make Torbay’s outdoor spaces more accessible, inclusive, and vibrant for everyone.
On 25 November 2025, Torquay United Football Club played host to the Torbay on the Move Network Day, an event designed to strengthen partnerships and shape the future of physical activity across the Bay. The day brought together stakeholders from across health, sport, local government, and community organisations, all united by a shared vision: helping people in Torbay move more every day.
The new Torbay Partnership Officer roles were also announced and warmly welcomed, this ignited conversations around support needed by local groups and what was already being delivered to help people use the incredible green and blue spaces on their doorstep. It was a fantastic event and a great launch for the officers who are now out and about meeting local organisations and would love to meeting any other potential stakeholders.
Whether you’re a potential participant eager to get outdoors, a provider looking to collaborate, or simply curious about what’s next, we’d love to hear from you.
