The Investors in Carers (IiC) scheme is a quality assurance scheme which has themed standards, an audit and certification processes and rewards, which recognises best practice. It has been designed for use across a generic range of settings and necessitates compilation of an evidence folder.
The scheme covers Carers of all ages and situations;

  • Young Carers under the age of 18

  • Young Adult Carers from 18 – 25

  • Parent Carers who care for a child with a disability or mental health issue

  • Sibling Carers

  • Older people caring for each other

The scheme is also designed to support adherence to key pieces of national and local legislation, including the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 commitments, and legislation relating to equality and diversity.

We have now achieved the Investors in Carers  Bronze Award. This has included training for the staff team, updating policies and improving communications on social media.
We hope to go on to work towards Silver and Gold in the near future to ensure that our programmes and charity are inclusive of all carers.
Our young carers adventure programme called AMSER, has been going on all across Wales since the summer of 2023, and provided 1175 opportunities for  young carers to try all kinds of activities, like bush craft, caving, canoeing, mountain biking, surfing and rafting.
The programme will continue this year with many more opportunities on the horizon – lots more fun to be had!
