Llanbedrog Circular
Distance: 2.3 miles / 3.6km
Duration: 2hrs
Description: The walk is steep in some parts and care is needed on the rough path on the climb up to the top. Spectacular views is your reward, and a steady walk back along clear tracks. Ensure you have suitable footwear. This walk is not suitable in windy conditions.
Starting point: Llanbedrog carpark by beach – National Trust owned (LL53 7TT). Buses 17, 17B and 18 all pass through Llanbedrog
- The walk starts from the carpark. There is a public toilet available if you turn left out of the car park towards the beach.
- On leaving the carpark, cross over the road and walk directly up the road to Plas Glyn y Weddw. You will pass the main Plas house, which has an art gallery and cafe, both open to the public.
- Follow the signposted path that rises gradually through the forest. It becomes steep as you get towards the top, with steps for the final part to reach the statue of a tin man. With spectacular views at the top make sure you take your camera and pause for a while to take it all in!
- Continue on past the statue on the clear path. The headland is Mynydd Tir Cwmwd, and the coastal path continues around the headland, before gradually descending the other side.
- When you get to the bottom, leave the mountain path onto the track heading to the right, and this turns to tarmac road. You will pass houses in the upper part of the village and come down the hill to the church hall. Turn right again along the beach road to return to car park.
